The three that enter the museums, one next to the other

One ticket with the app, a small group with a guide, a guide all to yourself. These are the three choices most people face.

The lines that really matter

Enter the museums. Five out of six proposals, yes. The Last Supper tour is the exception, and it’s not a flaw in the listing: it’s a tour of The Last Supper with a walk through the courtyards, which are free for everyone from 7:00 to 19:30. Anyone booking it to see the Pietà Rondanini will end up at the wrong door. Cenacolo e Castello explains it in detail.

Human guide. It’s the line that separates the two app-based proposals from the three with a person. The castle ticket office sells the same museum ticket; what it doesn’t sell is someone to explain the unfinished work in front of the marble. Le visite guidate explain what changes.

Languages. The Last Supper tour is only in English. The three with a guide cover Italian; the private tour adds Russian, the skip-the-line as well. The ticket app with digital audio guide also speaks Chinese. In which language has the list per option.

Accessibility. Two are declared wheelchair accessible: the Pietà and The Last Supper tours. One is declared unsuitable for those with mobility issues, with stairs on the battlements. The private tour mentions a moderate walk and advises against it for those with back problems. Where the description is silent, the table says “not indicated” rather than guessing. Accessibility adds what the castle does on its own.

Cancellation. Five out of six up to 24 hours in advance. The Last Supper only up to 3 days in advance, with all names required at booking and the time non-modifiable. The private tour also has a minimum number clause, so the operator may cancel after confirmation. Private tours reproduce it in full.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the real difference between the six Castello Sforzesco options?

Who accompanies you and where you go. Two options are museum tickets with an audio guide in an app, with no one speaking. Three have a live guide and either start or finish in front of the Pietà Rondanini. One is a tour of the Cenacolo, in English only, which then crosses the free courtyards and does not enter the museums. All options are described by type.

Which Castello Sforzesco offer is wheelchair accessible?

Two are: the small-group Pietà Rondanini tour and the Cenacolo tour with courtyards. The ticket with the Merlate panoramiche option states it is not suitable for those with mobility issues and that the walkway has stairs. The castle courtyards are flat; the museums are in a multi-level fortress with elevators on the main routes. Accessibility has the full picture.

Which offer has the strictest cancellation policy?

The Cenacolo tour: free only up to 3 days before, time cannot be changed, all participants' names required at booking, document at entry. The other five can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours in advance; the private tour may, however, be cancelled by the operator if there are too few participants. Cenacolo e Castello lists every condition.

Which offer lasts the longest?

The private skip-the-line tour, in its 5-hour version: castle and museums, the Basilica of Sant’Ambrogio and the city center on foot, with a private car. The basic version lasts 2 hours. The ticket with digital audioguide indicates about 3 hours, but it’s flexible: it’s just you with the app. Quanto tempo ci vuole discusses the museums without any tour in between.
